We did the Jaguar Safari and were absolutely thrilled with the whole experience. From the first contact to the end of the trip, everything was very well organized. Communication with Elisama was easy and reliable, and we always received quick responses to our questions. The entire trip was very well planned and perfectly organized. We were picked up directly at the airport and taken to our accommodation. The accommodation in Porto Jofre was also very nice and fit perfectly with the experience. Our guide Jo was with us throughout the safari, took great care of us, and shared lots of interesting information about the wildlife and the area. The absolute highlight, of course, were the jaguars: Within just two days, we saw 10 different jaguars. It was an incredible and truly unforgettable experience. We would definitely book the safari with Planeta Exo again and can highly recommend the company and the entire team!

We had an excellent 7-day cruise. The excursions, whether in small boats or on trails, were really interesting. Our guide Josue was very competent, and so was the crew. The food was very good too. A beautiful adventure.

We did a seven days expedition cruise on the Rio Negro. It was great. The booked boat was in repair and they use an equivalent boat. With 8 guests only, this allowed personalized experience. The crew provided excellent service. The food was amazing and diversified. Our guide was excellent and provided a lot of information about the life of indigenous people, on what the company is doing to help them and how the government is protecting the land. Activities were interesting : swimming with dolphins (they are free and were attracted with fishes), jungle walking, birds and animal watching, communities visits, explanation on survival in the jungle, swimming under a waterfall, piranhas fishing, swimming in the Rio Negro and relaxing on sand banks … It is not a luxury boat but confortable beds and air conditioning in each room. We loved this adventure and made new friends

We had fantastic days in the Pantanal. The lodge 'Aguapé' is a lovely place. The local guides are also a welcome addition to the guide, Izabela from planetaexo. She was knowledgeable. She was able to tell us a lot about the Pantanal, both nature and culture. But we also laughed a lot. All the excursions exceeded our expectations. And between the excursions there was also time to cool off in the swimming pool before sitting down at the table. All the meals are delicious and served with care. And made from local ingredients. Served by friendly staff. The cabins are simple, but have every comfort. It is recommended for everyone.

Our guide, Iza, was excellent; she taught us a lot and showed us so much. We really enjoyed her company—we had great conversations and plenty of laughs. The ranch guides and all the other staff were also very kind and ensured we had a fantastic holiday in the Pantanal. It was a truly unforgettable vacation for us. Thank you to the organization and the staff.

We booked our Amazon excursion through PlanetaEXO and the experience was brilliant from start to finish, professional friendly and super helpful, communicated well on all channels and ensure our trip went according to plan. The guide and staff at the lodge were excellent and made our time a memorable experience! Thank you and highly recommend them.

We were a group of four friends and booked a 3-day trekking through Lençóis Maranhenses at the beginning of September, and it was truly an amazing experience. The communication and organisation through PlanetaEXO were very good. We always received quick answers and had the feeling that they cared about making the experience work well for us. We travelled in the low season, so the tour was just the four of us, and we had both camps completely to ourselves. Of course, having the camps entirely to ourselves may be something some people enjoy more than others, but for us it made the experience feel particularly peaceful and special. The lagoons were still filled with water.. We imagine that during the high season the park can get quite busy, so travelling in the low season was a great choice for us. The trekking itself was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Our hosts at both camps were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our guide Leozihno was fantastic — very competent, knowledgeable and also a really nice person to spend the three days with. The sunrises and sunsets over the dunes and lagoons were just so beautiful, and walking through this unique landscape with hardly anyone else around made it feel truly magical. We can highly recommend the 3-day trek with PlanetaEXO. It was an unforgettable experience and definitely one of the best things we did in Brazil!

We did a 5-day tour through Jalapão, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! We got to see so many different and beautiful landscapes, incredible nature, waterfalls and wildlife, and learn more about the local culture and way of life. One of the highlights was meeting local people along the way, who welcomed us warmly, served us delicious homemade food, and shared their stories with us. It made the whole experience feel much more personal and authentic. And we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better guide than José! He was fantastic throughout the entire trip and played a huge part in making these five days so special. Thanks to him, the whole experience was not only beautiful and interesting, but truly unforgettable. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to discover the beauty, culture, and people of Jalapão!

Brazil adventure and ecotourism: how to plan a trip across a continent-sized country

Brazil is a country of 8.5 million km² that holds five major biomes: the Amazon Rainforest, the Pantanal wetlands, the Cerrado savanna, the Atlantic Forest, the Caatinga, and the Pampa—plus a 7,491 km coastline. No single trip sees it all, which is why most travelers focus on two or three regions.

PlanetaEXO is an ecotourism specialist, focusing on the best nature can offer. Brazil adventure travel links contrasting landscapes by short domestic flights, for example, the Amazon and the Pantanal for wildlife, or Chapada Diamantina and Lençóis Maranhenses for trekking and dunes. Every trip covers accommodation, guides, listed activities, and transfers from each meeting point—excluding flights so you keep control of routing.

Here, adventure travel in Brazil means small-group, nature-first trips: graded treks, wildlife safaris, kayaking, and diving rather than coach sightseeing. We also run gentle ecotourism and ecolodge stays, so a single journey can pair a relaxed rainforest lodge with a demanding multi-day trek. Pace, comfort, and group size are all adjustable.

On the conservation side, ecotourism in Brazil means low-impact travel that protects what you came to see. The country holds about 60% of the Amazon, the world’s largest tropical wetland in the Pantanal, plus the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest, paired with a strong network of ecolodges.

Responsible tourism also gives standing forests and wetlands an economic value, which helps protect them. Partners fund jaguar monitoring in the Pantanal, reserve protection in the Amazon, and community projects in places like Bonito. Choosing local guides and certified operators keeps more of your spending in the region, so sustainable travel in Brazil is not just about where you travel but how you do it.

Not sure where to start? Tell us your dates, interests, and fitness, and we will shape an itinerary that fits, whether that leans adventure, ecotourism, or both!
