We had fantastic days in the Pantanal. The lodge 'Aguapé' is a lovely place. The local guides are also a welcome addition to the guide, Izabela from planetaexo. She was knowledgeable. She was able to tell us a lot about the Pantanal, both nature and culture. But we also laughed a lot. All the excursions exceeded our expectations. And between the excursions there was also time to cool off in the swimming pool before sitting down at the table. All the meals are delicious and served with care. And made from local ingredients. Served by friendly staff. The cabins are simple, but have every comfort. It is recommended for everyone.

Our guide, Iza, was excellent; she taught us a lot and showed us so much. We really enjoyed her company—we had great conversations and plenty of laughs. The ranch guides and all the other staff were also very kind and ensured we had a fantastic holiday in the Pantanal. It was a truly unforgettable vacation for us. Thank you to the organization and the staff.

Wow! Communication, value for money and quality of service have been exceptional. I cannot recommend PlanetaEXO more highly. Our admin support was superb. Comms were friendly, timely and helpful. Our guide to the Pantanal, Bruno was so knowledgable and friendly whilst never intruding on family time. Whilst away we had a medical emergency and everyone supported us faultlessly. Honestly cannot speak more highly of our experience. Do not hesitate- you are in safe hands and will have the best time!

We booked two activities with PlanetaEXO (Pantanal safari and Lençois trecking) and both times we were highly satisfied. The activities were exactly as described, the logistics was well organized and the communication was very efficient. Thank you!

The communication from PlanetaEXO was amazing. They sent important information and reminders via WhatsApp and responded quickly to my questions. The driver, Rafael, who picked us up was prompt and friendly and an excellent driver. When we decided to leave the Jungle Lodge two hours earlier than planned so we could visit Campo Grande, he arrived exactly on time and drove us to the park to visit the capybaras. He also explained how important it was to get a taxi or Uber early to get to the airport because the traffic is very bad. Our guide Boby at the jungle Lodge was the best guide there. He had high energy and a great spirit, and worked really hard to make sure we saw all the animals we possibly could. We saw lots of beautiful birds, jacarés, and capybaras. Boby was also a talented jewelry maker and made my son a beautiful necklace made out of a natural fiber that he cut in the forest and attached an alligator’s tooth to it. The fishing was fun, and Boby was so helpful. He wouldn’t stop until all of us caught a fish! Our group was small so we had lots of attention. Unfortunately, the days we were in the Pantanal were extremely hot - between 98 and 100°. I didn’t care for the horseback riding. It was too hot and we didn’t see any animals. I also didn’t care for the kayaking because it was a wide river and we didn’t see any animals. But we were with a nice group of people in our tour and made some friends. Overall, it was an excellent experience and exactly how PlanetaEXO described it.

Beatriz really made sure we were well taken care of. She responded on WhatApp in a timely manner, answered questions, giving us information and being supportive. Our guide was great and we had a great time!

The Pantanal experience was fantastic. We got to see a ton of animals, some of them close. The accommodations were clean, nice and with all the amenities, the service was really good, the different activities kept us occupied without being exhausting. Adding a bilingual guide was very helpful. The communication and organization of the trip was very good. While the setting is not in the jungle, and the south side doesn't have jaguars, there were lots of birds, ant eaters, foxes, deer, capybaras, ostriches and armadillos. I definitely would do it again.

Did a trip to the Pantanal. Incredible. Highlight of my trip. Waking up and being able to walk 5 paces and sit by the river in peace. Heaven. Never seen so much wildlife. My guide was absolutely brilliant. In fact everyone was. Accom great. Food delicious. Very well run with a morning trip, eve or afternoon trip andca break in between to cool off in the pool and drink beer. In the grounds...Capybara running about the place, hawks wandering all over the place, giant macaws hanging upside down and the biggest storks ive ever seen....and that lot is just wandering around in the grounds, there's loads more out on the rivers and grass lands. Organisation from everyone involved...excellent

Pantanal Tours from Campo Grande: Ranch Life, Wild Lodges and the One Place in the South to See Jaguars

Pantanal tours from Campo Grande open the land-based, ranch-rooted side of the world’s largest tropical wetland. The Pantanal spans more than 210,000 km² across Brazil, and its southern half sits in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, reached through Campo Grande (CGR airport). Where the Northern Pantanal is built around jaguar boat safaris, Southern Pantanal tours are built around working cattle farms turned wildlife lodges, where you trade the river for open fields, forest trails, and the Pantaneiro cowboy culture.

From Campo Grande, the gateway towns are Aquidauana (about 2 to 3 hours by road), Miranda, and Corumbá (roughly 3.5 to 6 hours). The classic South Pantanal safari mixes 4×4 game drives, boat trips on the Aquidauana and Miranda rivers, horseback riding across the floodplain, night spotting, and piranha fishing, all run by the lodge teams with a private English-speaking guide. Our Pantanal Wildlife Trip from Campo Grande is the core 4-day tour, and the Budget Pantanal Tour keeps the same wetland on a smaller budget.

Wildlife here is dense even without the jaguar headline. The biome holds roughly 650 bird species, 159 mammals, and one of the highest concentrations of animals in South America, so a southern Pantanal tour reliably delivers capybaras, broad-snouted caimans, giant otters, tapirs, giant anteaters, and the hyacinth macaw.

Jaguars are far harder to see in the south than in the north, with one real exception: Caiman Ecological Refuge, a 53,000-hectare private reserve near Miranda whose partnership with the Onçafari Project gives a reported 98% jaguar sighting rate and the only dependable big-cat tracking in the region.

The south also pairs naturally with Bonito, Brazil’s freshwater snorkeling capital, only about 2.5 hours from the wetland lodges, which is why our 5-Day Pantanal Bonito Tour is one of the most popular ways to combine the two. Most trips run 4 to 6 days because the transfers are long and the wildlife rewards patience.

Not sure whether you want ranch life, the Caiman jaguar reserve, a Bonito combination, or all three? Tell us your dates and your budget, and we will build the best Pantanal tours from Campo Grande for you!
