Iguazu Falls tours: why the Brazilian side gets the picture
Iguazu Falls is not one waterfall but 275 separate cascades strung along 2.7 km of the Iguaçu River, on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The tallest drop, the Devil’s Throat (Garganta do Diabo), falls 82 meters. Average flow is around 1,750 m³ per second, and in flood it passes 12,000 m³/s. Roughly 80% of the cascades sit on Argentine soil, which is exactly why most people book Brazil’s Iguazu Falls trips: the country holds the frontal balcony, the view that fits the whole system into one frame.
The Brazilian side is sheltered by Iguaçu National Park, 185,262 hectares managed by ICMBio and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. It protects one of the largest surviving fragments of the Atlantic Forest: over 2,000 plant species, more than 400 birds, and around 80 mammals. On the ground it comes down to three things. The Cataratas Trail runs 1.5 km along the canyon and ends at the walkway facing the Devil’s Throat. The Macuco Safari takes about 1h45 (an electric-jeep ride through the canopy, then a speedboat straight under the falls).

What to expect from the weather and connecting your Iguazu Falls trip to other Brazilian destinations
Timing changes the trip more than anything else. December to February brings peak water and highs near 33°C, while the window from May to September is drier and cooler at 22°C to 28°C—better for walking, with August the driest month.
