FAQ

Reviews

“Place simply wonderful !! All staff have an unparalleled attention and care for guests. The place is magical and the walks and especially the bird watching was simply amazing. Let us continue to take care of our nature.”

— Renata

“We stayed for a few nights in August - the dry season - and were incredibly impressed. The birdlife and wildlife is fantastic (we were particularly focused on birds - and there were good opportunities in the towers and in bird hides for particular species). Spending time on the river itself was fantastic, seeing many things come to the waters edge, as well as specific hikes and activities. The lodge itself was really impressive - all meals, the layout of it and the standard. We stayed in a Bungalow and it was incredible. Probably the best type of rainforest lodge we have stayed in before. We would definetely go back - not least of which because we really got the sense the area was being protected well by the Foundation.”

“I would like to sincerely thank Cristalino Lodge for the incredible experience I had on my last stay. Every moment was magical, surrounded by the beauty of nature and your warm hospitality. We appreciate every care received by the staff, every meal prepared with care and every activity that enriched our experience. Thank you very much for making this stay so special and memorable! The cuisine was simply incredible and exceeded all expectations, with reinterpretations of dishes using typical ingredients. The bungalows are simply wonderful. I confess that I was worried about getting hot, as I'm quite hot, but the room is designed to be well ventilated and cool. The activities are incredible, and the guides are experts, making every moment a worthwhile experience. Cristalino Lodge is a mix of luxury and nature, literally a refuge in the Amazon Rainforest. Rooms: Perfect bungalow, exceeds all expectations. Nearby activities: All the activities programmed by the Lodge are incredible. Food and drinks: Excellent signature drinks! Meal menus are simply fantastic. Noteworthy details: For people who need accessibility, it may not be the best experience.”

“Our guide tailored the excursions to our interests while providing insight into the Amazon biome. Caio was incredibly knowledgeable and our boatman Thio was overflowing with knowledge from 23 yrs of guiding. The sunrise tower experience was our favorite. We loved the river excursions and kayaking. Our room was very comfortable and we were blessed to be upgraded to the only unit with a/c. The food is excellent tho a bit too gourmet for my taste. Be prepared for the heat. Few bugs when we were there but bring a spray with DEET. The Pia type is useless. Saw lots of wildlife and beautiful birds but from a distance. Very nice setting to unwind.”

“This lodge is very special. Our family of four - parents and two adult children - spent some time here over Christmas and all had a fabulous time. It was quite hot during our stay, so we quickly learned to cool off with multiple swims, showers and fruit juices at the bar each day. Our guide for the week, Rafa, and the boatman, Leandro, were fabulous, showing us way more wildlife than we ever thought possible. By the end we had more than 200 birds on our lists, together with multiple mammals, spiders, and frogs. The food at the restaurant was fresh tasting and delicious, much of it with Brazilian flavors and produce from their gardens. All in all, Cristalino was the perfect choice for us. The only downside was that our flight home from Alta Floresta was cancelled at the last minute due to weather. Our daughter texted the concierge (even though of course we had checked out). Lucas joined us after a few minutes, negotiated with the airline staff (who spoke limited English) and stayed with us until we had been rebooked. This all took several hours (since everyone else was rebooking as well!). He wouldn’t leave until we completely taken care of - way above and beyond in my view. So, thank you Cristalino for a wonderful week and to Lucas for getting us home!”

“Environmental Sustainability at Cristalino Lodge is effective, direct and straight, unlike many who talk about and even invest in the topic, however, they continue to destroy nature in the search for better financial returns. More important than the sophistication of the hotel, the exclusivity of the tours in the middle of the untouched Amazon rainforest and along the crystal-clear river, the preservation of the environment was, without a doubt, an experience that we will never forget. Congratulations to everyone at Cristalino Lodge.”

— Petronilho

“A magnificent lodge in a preserved environment. The wildlife conservation project around the lodge is truly noteworthy and worth every dollar you spend here. The activities are interesting and the naturalist and ornithologist guides are experienced. We saw rare species of both birds and mammals, and tapirs on several occasions. The absence of air conditioning in the rooms is explained by environmental reasons, so we put up with the heat in the rooms because the coherence of the project requires it. The rooms are, however, well designed to allow a permanent flow of air. The meals are delicious, varied and made with local products. A welcome change and the best meals of our month-long stay in Brazil. We will return with pleasure and wish deserved success to this exceptional lodge.”

— Gaspard

“We recently returned from a week long stay at Cristalino Jungle Lodge - and what an amazing experience it was. The food is delicious and well presented and highlights local ingredients. There is always a vegetarian/vegan option available. The bar is well stocked and staff will make any drink you want - don't miss the fresh fruit juices, they're wonderful! Both housekeeping and meal service is excellent. The staff are gracious and always willing to help! The primary reason for our visit was birding, so we spent a good deal of time exploring the beautiful Cristalino River by boat. We also enjoyed many of the lodge's trails and 2 canopy towers. A special feature not often seen are the small bathing "puddles" with hide, constructed by the staff. These allow birders to view shy, forest birds as they arrive for a late afternoon bath. Cristalino Jungle Lodge is a very special place and we hope to return in the future. One week just wasn't enough!”

— Lizzie

“An excellent experience in all respects! The facilities are amazing, especially given their remote location. Staff are uniformly knowledgeable and helpful. The food was fantastic, and they paid special attention to food restrictions. Local trails and boat rides were delightful, with knowledgeable guides and boatmen. We are so pleased that the area has been preserved for posterity, with its amazing biodiversity and its focus on introducing kids (and adults!) to nature. One of the best lodges we've ever visited...”

“I had the privilege of staying in this private reserve and it was an unforgettable experience. Bird enthusiast, I was not disappointed and my Guide Sidnei had something to do with it. Many birds that were difficult to see were hard to see because of his patience and knowledge. I thank him once again here. Not only for the ferocious Harpy we observed for nearly half an hour but also for the experience of the two observation towers at dawn and for the superb boat trips and trails so rich in biodiversity. Here no swimming pools or televisions and it's good! The quality of the food is exceptional with a concern for local cuisine and the priority of local products. My Bungalow was comfortable and very clean and decorated simply and tastefully. Everything in this place exudes sound management and the quality, kindness and competence of the employees, and I am talking about all the employees; from the gardener to the kitchen staff, guides and administration. I felt not like a client but like a guest in my own right. The few meetings I had with the property owner and her daughter were precious moments. I hope I'll be back soon.”
