Overview

This Pantanal Jaguar Safari in Porto Jofre is a 4-day expedition into Brazil’s Northern Pantanal, departing from Cuiabá and built around the world’s best-known location for spotting jaguars in the wild. FAQ

Reviews

“We did the Jaguar Safari and were absolutely thrilled with the whole experience. From the first contact to the end of the trip, everything was very well organized. Communication with Elisama was easy and reliable, and we always received quick responses to our questions. The entire trip was very well planned and perfectly organized. We were picked up directly at the airport and taken to our accommodation. The accommodation in Porto Jofre was also very nice and fit perfectly with the experience. Our guide Jo was with us throughout the safari, took great care of us, and shared lots of interesting information about the wildlife and the area. The absolute highlight, of course, were the jaguars: Within just two days, we saw 10 different jaguars. It was an incredible and truly unforgettable experience. We would definitely book the safari with Planeta Exo again and can highly recommend the company and the entire team!”

— Tobias Müller

“The Pantanal is magic! My husband and I have just had the most amazing tour in The Pantanal. Our guide Carlos was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, patient and passionate about the Pantanal and every thing that lives there. We were only there for 3 days but we saw countless wonderful animals and birds, including 5 gorgeous Jaguar, a family of Giant River Otters, Caiman, Capybara, an armadillo, and a tarantula!”

— Felicia Lane-Owen

“Good communication and follow up, great adventure We booked 3 nights Pantanal and 3 nights Amazon with PlanetaEXO. The website is very clear, with extra articles about the areas etc. Beatriz helped us great with finding the best trips within our budget. We didn’t book the most expensive trip, and we have the idea that it couldn’t be better. It turned out to be wonderfull. The organisation and follow-up by the team via Whatsapp where very good so we felt really safe. We will definitely recommend this to other people.”

— Leen Van Dooren

“We booked two tours with PlanetaEXO, one in the Amazon and one in Pantanal. The one in Amazon was quite bad, the guide did not communicate very well, and they also burned plastic, which we very much disliked. The one in Pantanal was great, we saw a lot of animals, the guide was communicative and he took care of a lot of things, and you could clearly see that he cared about our well-being and enjoyment.”

— Bastian

“amazing experience Our experience went far beyond expectations. Everything went smoothly from start to finish, and Planeta Exo made the whole process as easy as possible. The guide was truly knowledgeable and engaging, and every person we met along the way contributed to creating a unique and unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!”

— Gioia Vencato

“The Pantanal is a wonderful place to… The Pantanal is a wonderful place to see beautiful wildlife and jaguars. In 3 days, I saw 9 different jaguars thanks to my guide and boat captain. More than 20 different bird species was the icing on my cake. Just remember that it’s important who you choose to setup your trip. PlanetaEXO is the one to use! They helped me with every step. I highly recommend them and Santa Rosa Pantanal Hotel. Ask for Helena as your guide. She is super nice and an expert in the Pantanal.”

— Carl

“Good communication from first moment onwards when booking. Very well organized with experienced drivers, very open friendly and knowledgeable guide. Nature is stunning and diverse. Especially the second day on the water was extraordinary”

— Barry Pieters

“A true immersion in the true nature of the Pantanal. At first, I noticed that there were too many consecutive hours with nothing to do, but the team made an effort to make sure that I had all four days of the experience as busy as possible.”

— José

“Fantastic trip. We saw 4 jaguars in two days on the river and a lot of other animals and birds. Our guide Helena was awesome and the lodge was also very good”

— Roland Scheinok

“In August 2024, my wife and I spent six days at Porto Jofre with a photography group from the US. Our main objective was to photograph jaguars along the rivers as well as other wildlife. Hence we spent extra days there. The rooms are decent with private both, air conditioning (you need it) and a fridge. The beds are comfortable. In our room, they have 110v and 220v Brazilian Type N outlets as well as AC outlets that you can directly use North American (Type A) and European round plugs, which makes it very convenient for us, although we brought plug converters with us. (Not sure every room is configured that way, as I didn't check other rooms.) Lodging includes three meals a day, buffet style. Breakfast starts a 5am as a lot of boats go out around 6am/sunrise onto the river to search for jaguars/wildlife, before it gets hot. For lunch and dinner, they usually have a few choices for meat: fish, beef, and chicken, and they have rice and pasta. There is also plenty of salad and vegetables. The food is quite decent and they have a lot of selections for drinks, wine, beer .... Most in our group also appreciate their dessert. Inside the property there is a house. Once they brought out some fruits and bird seeds that attracted a lot of birds, great for us photographers and bird watchers. The lodge has very good laundry service: give it to them early in the morning, and they'll have it ready by mid afternoon or so. The cost is quite reasonable. Recolher conteúdo”
