Itinerary

Day 1

Manaus / Fish Market / Meeting of Waters / Lake Tracajá

The day starts at 8 AM with a 20-minute car transfer from Manaus to the Ceasa river port. From there, a 30-minute speedboat ride reaches Careiro da Várzea, passing the Meeting of Waters, where the Negro and Solimões rivers run side by side without mixing.

After a short stop at the local fruit market, the trip continues by bus or van for about 40 minutes along the BR-319 highway, past the Araçá River. Then, board another boat for the final ~50-minute leg through lakes, narrow channels, floating houses, native villages, and stretches of Amazon water lilies. You should arrive at the Amazon Premium Lodge around noon for lunch.

In the afternoon, a motorized boat trip on Lake Tracajá looks for spider monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and herons, followed by a delicious dinner.

Day 2

Set off at 5:30 AM to watch the rainforest wake up (great for birdwatchers). After breakfast, a jungle hike covers survival techniques, medicinal plants, and the forest’s biodiversity.

The afternoon is for piranha fishing on the calm waters near the Amazon ecolodge. After dark, an 8 PM night safari by boat and on foot picks out caimans, owls, sloths, and other nocturnal wildlife.

In the morning, visit caboclo houses to see the daily life, rubber and cassava plantations, and how the forest provides fruit, herbs, and Brazil nuts for locals. Wonderful chance for sharing food and stories with the families who live here!

After lunch, swim and canoe on Lake Tracajá right outside the lodge, with more chances to spot wildlife along the shoreline before the light softens in the late afternoon.

Day 4

Last Amazon Views / Return to Manaus
