FAQ

Reviews

“Organisation and communication. Ana was always available she answered to all my questions she prepared many offers until I got the one that convinced me. When she did had the answer she asked to partner and she came back to me. She could suggest me a floating lodge that was more near to my wishes ( more familiar and less crowded). What PlanetaEXO propose it s just unforgettable: paradise location and very professional team. Guide was speaking perfect English and Portuguese and we really appreciated that was a local guy and he knew a lot about every single tree around. His name it s dodo. And I m vegan and the chef of the cozinha, Adriana, prepared meat that I never had so delicious in all Brasil. She s well aware of any allergies or intolerance you could have and adapt her recipes. Just keep in mi d that planetexpo asked me to pay in advance all the tour I was a bit scared but I trusted them and apparently it quite normal.”

“We had an awesome jungle adventure at the Dolphin Lodge. We've been on two safari trips in Africa, and this delivered a similar experience but in Amazon jungle form. Getting to the lodge was an adventure in itself, with multiple fun boat rides. Then once there, we did a boat safari deep into the river system to see birds, animals and even went piranha fly fishing (my favorite). They also took us out at night to spot baby caimans and got to hold one that our guide caught with his hands! On our last day, we did a jungle hike and got to learn a lot about the Amazon rainforest. Overall, thrilled with the experience and highly recommend.”

“The stay at this place was wonderful. The place is great and the staff, too. Food was excellent and most important the trips with Nigel were fantastic.”

— Gabriele

“The hotel is in Novo Airão, not in the middle of the forest. But it faces the Rio Negro, with a breathtaking view. There's a deck where you can take a dip and see the tucuxi in the distance (I think that was the name), smaller relatives of the river dolphins. The tours are very well organized, the local guides are super attentive and share their knowledge about the forest - which is a spectacle in itself, with its igapós, its aromas, its sounds. The trails to the Samaúma, with the canoe ride through the igapós, and to the Grutas do Madadá are unforgettable. We were left wanting to come back in the dry season, to see the beaches, the Parque do Jaú and the cave paintings. The hotel does very beautiful work by employing almost exclusively residents of Novo Airão, and is involved in projects of great importance for the livelihood of the riverside communities after the demarcation of the National Park - we didn't know when we made the reservations, and that was a pleasant surprise during our stay. The food is plentiful and delicious. Sandra was very kind to us at the restaurant, very understanding and helpful, because our daughter is quite a picky eater. All in all, we loved everything.”

“From the moment we arrived at the house, we felt as if we had entered paradise. Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect: the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The hospitality made us feel at home. The organized tours were more than incredible: well organized, always punctual and full of fascinating insights about the Amazon. Every experience felt meaningful and memorable, thanks to our experienced guides, who shared so much with us. The lodge itself was a true paradise: comfortable, very well designed and fully equipped! The meals were another highlight. Breakfast changed daily and featured a variety of delicious local flavors. Lunches during our tours were prepared by locals or on site to showcase even more of the local specialties, and dinners were exceptional, too - every dish a pleasure. What made our stay even more special was learning about the owners' commitment to the region. Through their foundation, they actively support local communities and environmental initiatives, making a real difference in people's lives and in the preservation of the Amazon. It was great to know that our visit was also contributing to such a meaningful cause. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we can't recommend this lodge enough. If you are looking for nature, comfort, true Amazonian hospitality, and a place that gives back – this is the place.”

— Heike

“We absolutely loved our stay at MDG Lodge. We stayed for 4 nights in a treehouse and had a wonderful time. Everything was well planned, the excursions were varied and well spaced out, and we saw an incredible amount of wildlife. The accommodation and the food were also high quality. Special mention to Nigel, who was an absolutely excellent guide and made our trip.”

— Laura K

“Our experience at Mirante do Gavião Amazon Lodge was good!! The place is beautiful, surrounded by the lush nature of the Amazon, providing a unique contact with the region. The tours were very well organized, with attentive guides, who made our trip even richer. Breakfast was excellent, with daily variations that made the meal even more special. Dinner, although good, was nothing exceptional. One detail we loved was the care on our return – they prepared a little snack for us to take, a thoughtful gesture that made all the difference”
